ETF: What are they?
An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is an investment vehicle listed on a stock exchange, usually used to passively track the performance of an index, industry or asset portfolio.
Investors can buy and sell ETFs at any time during trading hours, just like buying and selling stocks, with low barriers and high liquidity.
Although most ETFs are passive, there are also some ETFs that adopt active management strategies, but they are relatively rare, especially in the European market.
Compared with actively managed certificates (AMCs), ETFs are usually more transparent and have lower fees, and are suitable for long-term and diversified investments.
